Abstract

The effectiveness of second harmonic manipulation for power performance improvement at millimeter-wave frequencies is experimentally demonstrated. The new power amplifier stage clearly demonstrates superior performance with respect to a standard tuned load approach, both in terms of output power and power-added efficiency. Moreover, the IM3 test showed no significant differences in the two cases.
